VA personnel to meet Island veterans at hospital

A Veterans Administration (VA) physician and a public contact advocate will be at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital next week to assist Island veterans.

Dr. Monty VanBeber will see veterans who receive their health care through the VA by appointment on March 11 and 12. Dr. VanBeber is the Associate Chief of Staff for Community-Based Outpatient Clinics for the Providence VA Medical Center.

Cheryl A. Belisle is a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) public contact advocate based in the Providence Regional Office. She will be available at the hospital from 8 am to 2:30 pm on March 11 to answer local veterans’ questions and provide them with information about filing claims, VA health care and benefits, survivor’s benefits, and home loans.

Dukes County Director of Veterans Services Jo Ann Murphy suggests that veterans contact her at 508-693-6887 to set up appointments with Dr. VanBeber and Ms. Belisle.
