Gas prices drop across Mass, remain high on Martha’s Vineyard

Gas prices across Massachusetts declined by 5 cents a gallon over the past week, AAA of Southern New England reported Monday. The organization said gas in Massachusetts is averaging $3.62 per gallon for regular, or 9 cents a gallon higher than at this time in 2013. The AAA survey found prices ranging from a low of $3.45 to a high of $3.89.

Across the country, Alaska at $4.14 and Hawaii at $4.34 reported the highest average price per gallon.

On Martha’s Vineyard on Monday, the cost of a gallon of gas hovered around $4.60 per gallon.
