To the Editor:
It is with gratitude that I write this letter to commend Sandra Murphy, Oak Bluffs Library Director, and Zoe Thompson, Children and Young Adult Librarian. I attended a number of events at the Oak Bluffs Library and I saw the joy on the faces of children, parents, and grandparents as children engaged in activities that prompted their curiosity, imagination, and wonder. The librarians were equally delighted. With warmth and professionalism they made the library most inviting and welcoming.
It was with gratitude and admiration that I wrote the attached poem as an expression of my appreciation for their work. Kudos to the Oak Bluffs community for their support of their exemplary library.
The Martha’s Vineyard Times is also to be commended for its important role in announcing and recording community events. Your reporting plays an important role in shaping, maintaining, and building community on Martha’s Vineyard.
