Samuel M. Feldman of Chilmark, 85, walked the final half (13 miles) of the New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 2. Sam’s daughter, Leigh Feldman of New York City and a summer resident of Martha’s Vineyard, completed the half marathon course with her father.
For many years, as a member of the Achilles Track Club in New York, Sam served as a NYC Marathon guide for people with disabilities, who are called “The Athletes.” This year, Sam walked the marathon as an Athlete following lung cancer surgery in October 2013. Leigh Feldman served as her father’s guide.
