The MV junior high boys travel basketball team opened its season this past Saturday in Oak Bluffs with a 52-31 victory over Mashpee. Dylan Dyke lead a balanced Vineyard offense with 15 points, Lukah Veira added 9 and Jeremy Regan 8. Defensively, a first half press lead by guards Owen Porterfield and Jared Regan resulted in numerous Mashpee turnovers and an early 13-point lead that would be too much for Mashpee to overcome.
Next up is North Plymouth away on Saturday, December 13, and a home game against Dartmouth on the 14th in Oak Bluffs.
