The Night Heron Gallery, a collaborative of Island artists in Vineyard Haven, has created a gift basket of Island art for their annual raffle to benefit charity. According to a press release, “the gift basket is filled with handcrafted treasures created by the 10 resident artists of the gallery.” The basket also includes a signed copy of An Amazing Story of the Vineyard Derby by Ed Jerome and the late Ray Ellis.

This holiday season, donations to the raffle will benefit the Joseph Jerome Memorial Fund. According to the fund’s mission statement, it “was created in memory of Joseph E. Jerome, who at 24 years of age, passed away from his lifelong battle with Crohn’s Disease.

“Although the Island of Martha’s Vineyard is only 90 miles from the city of Boston and some of the best hospitals in the world, the cost of accessing those facilities places a tremendous financial burden for Island families who must consistently travel back and forth.

“This fund is solely committed to financially helping those families with chronically ill children facing this very difficult and often lifelong journey.”

Tickets to enter the raffle are $5 each, or three for $10. A winner will be selected on December 22.
