The Family to Family Holiday Food Distribution Program, a service of the Vineyard Committee on Hunger, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, recently announced a donation of $5,100 from the Island Entertainment at the Ocean View group. The group, including George Balco, Lorraine Cottle, Sharon Jackson, and Peggy Jackson among others, presented Family to Family with the donation check on Jan. 10, the last night the Jacksons owned the Ocean View before new owner Mike Santoro took over the restaurant.

For a decade, the volunteer-run Family to Family program has provided the ingredients for healthy holiday meals three times a year — at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and in the spring — to families in need on-Island. The program is entirely funded by donations from the Island community, which aims to raise approximately $20,000 each year to keep the program going. As a result of the donation from Island Entertainment at Ocean View and other generous supporters, the committee announced, they are meeting operating expenses for the year.
