Members of the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School track and field team competed in the Massachusetts State Division 4 relays in Bellingham on Sunday, and performed quite admirably. Among the 35 teams that competed, the Vineyard finished in the top 10 in nine relays.

In addition to the traditional relays (4×100, 4×400, 4×800), there was also a 4×200, sprint medley, distance medley, and 4×1 mile relay. The field events were contested by three team members. The distances of their best of three jumps/throws added together for a total score.

The girls competed in the 4×100, 4×400, sprint medley, long jump, triple jump, and javelin, while the boys competed in the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400, sprint medley, long jump, triple jump, and javelin.
