A Gallery in Oak Bluffs welcomed the new season with an opening party and artist reception on Saturday. The lively event featured iPhotography by Paul Lazes, and daily digital sketches by Heather Goff, along with a preview of artworks to be featured throughout the new season.
In the summer of 2014, Paul Lazes initiated a series of lifesize portraits of women on Martha’s Vineyard who inspire him. The series is titled “Tough Chicks of Martha’s Vineyard,” and 38 of the intended 100 subjects have already been photographed. A selection of photographs are on exhibit, and smaller prints are available for purchase at the gallery.
Heather Goff’s ongoing “Digital Daily Sketches” illustrate moments in the artist’s life on the Vineyard, spanning the four seasons, moments indoors and outdoors, with details from the garden to the kitchen and everything in between.
The event also welcomed new artists to the gallery, including Carol Brown Goldberg, Donna Straw, Julia Mitchell, Robert Hauck, Leslie Baker, and Peigi Cole-Jolliffe. The current exhibit runs through June 13.
