To the Editor:
What a community we live in. Frequently we read and hear about the generosity of individuals, organizations, and businesses on the Island supporting our children. Here is another one of those stories.
This spring, for the fourth year in a row, Bunch of Grapes in Vineyard Haven sponsored a book fair in the bookstore to benefit the Island’s school libraries. They arranged and held a very fun kickoff event on a Friday evening, with games, a scavenger hunt with prizes, amazing face painting, and refreshments.
We most sincerely thank Molly Coogan and the rest of the staff at Bunch of Grapes for their creativity and enthusiasm in making the Bunch of Grapes Book Fair a success, and owner Dawn Braasch for her generosity in donating a portion of sales that week to our school libraries. On behalf of our students, our libraries, and our schools, please accept our heartfelt thanks. We look forward to another successful book fair next year.
