The Mass. Memories Road Show is a statewide digital history project, produced by the University Archives & Special Collections Department of UMass Boston, that documents people, places, and events in Massachusetts history through family photographs and stories. The Road Show will be coming to Martha’s Vineyard for a one-day event on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 10 am to 3 pm at the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center.

Members of the public are invited to bring 2-3 unframed photos (print or digital) of their Martha’s Vineyard stories to be scanned and added to a statewide digital archive. Attendees also have the opportunity to tell their stories on video, get advice from professional archivists on how to care for their photos and documents, and more.

The Road Show is being organized by the Martha’s Vineyard Library Association, with assistance from the Martha’s Vineyard Museum. Funding comes from Island Friends of Libraries and our local Cultural Council. The Mansion House and Twin Oaks Inn are also providing support for the event.
