Thankful for the rain, the falling of branches before they break under snow, kindness of strangers who pass through our lives, so much support when we don’t always know what’s going on. Also thankful for the hat I am wearing, which was knitted and given to me Saturday at the Farmers Market by Nancy Weaver. Remember next week is the last Farmers Market outside at the Grange, from 9 am to noon. The scarf, knitted by Breezy Pines Farm proprietress Heather Thurber, was a gift for my birthday last month. I don’t knit, but I did for one year to get over my phobia of knitting; everyone I know got a hat and scarf, and I still wear mine.
Last weekend’s harvest fest was a blast, great exhibits, delicious locally sourced food, and so many great events. I ran into the Chilmark Coffee truck, and had never realized they had the very same truck at the Farmers Market. They explained they only got their license three weeks ago, but have been set up at weddings and other events. It’s streamlined and clean; who wouldn’t want a fresh cup of Chilmark’s finest?
Speaking of last weekends, Columbus Day weekend has arrived, and so the sales are on in Menemsha, the last pizzas will be served, and we must bid farewell to our seasonal mainstays; thanks for all the wonderful service and yummy delights, Chilmark Store, the Bite, the Galley, and especially, stay warm, Roberta and Bob Morgan! Enjoy the holiday weekend!
