To the Editor:
Many thanks to all the Derby fisherman who, each week of the Derby, donated
their fish, and to the Derby volunteers, including those who so carefully
fillet the donated fish. Island seniors and especially Edgartown seniors have
enjoyed these free fish distributed weekly at our senior centers. On Wednesday
mornings, at the Anchors in Edgartown, I have helped distribute the fish, and
watched as many seniors took a bluefish, hoped for a piece of bass, or
selected their first-ever sample of bonito. It’s been a wonderful Derby season
for all. My special thanks to all of you.
