The Martha’s Vineyard U-10 soccer team played its last game of the season Saturday against the Dighton-Rehoboth Strikers in Dighton, and emerged with a 4-1 win.
The Islanders made 33 shots on goal, compared with 11 for their opponents, and that told the story of the game and the team’s 8-0 season.
Scoring was spread out, with one goal each by Sean Rodgers-Thomas, Porter Moehnke, Jack Carbon, and Quinn Cathey.
Coach Brian Cioffi and Assistant Coach Drew Cathey credited teamwork. “It was a great season,” Coach Cioffi said. “The players improved throughout the season through hard work and perseverance, and we learned a lot from working with these kids.”
