Dr. David Finkelstein attended the Eye-Sight 20/20 vision conference

Dr. David Finkelstein, of the Vineyard Haven optometry office of Dr. Finkelstein and Dr. Shea, recently attended the Eye-Sight 20/20 vision conference in Natick. The conference included classes about glaucoma and its evolving treatments, as well as cornea and anterior segment disease. According to a press release, Dr. Finkelstein and Dr. Shea’s office recently purchased an instrument called an OCT (optical coherence tomograph), which is used to assess the macula for early disease changes and to evaluate the optic nerve for early glaucoma changes; this instrument was discussed extensively during Eye-Sight 20/20 as being state of the art in the early detection of glaucoma and macular changes.
