To the Editor:
It is with great appreciation that I have seen the growth and development of your newspaper over these years. The sections of last week’s paper were really evident of the caring people of this Island, as well as your columnists and editors. I was so pleased to see the holiday spirit in print and photos.
However, I want to call attention to one thing that was missing — Jesus, “the reason for the season.” I understand it is not politically correct at this time in our society to mention His name. However, I would like to call your attention to who He is: a Jew, a carpenter, and the sacrificial lamb for all men of goodwill. Time is getting short. We must ask the question, “Who is this Jew, this carpenter, this sacrificial lamb?” The Messiah — who willingly gave His life for wicked mankind to be set free from the snares of our enemy, the devil. We cannot embrace being kind and caring to one another and not remember why we have these desires. These desires come from that Jew, that carpenter, that sacrificial lamb, the Messiah, who is “the reason for the season.
