The Martha’s Vineyard skeet team finished the skeet winter league with a 100 bird final shoot on Sunday in East Warren, R.I. Over the course of the past six months, in eight matches the team competed against 100 or more skeet enthusiasts from around New England.
Competitors are classified AA, B, C, D, or E based on known ability or previous registered shooting results. Awards are given in two categories: scores over the entire eight shoots in class, and position in the 100 bird shoot in class. All of the Vineyard shooters improved over last year’s shoot. Matt Gamache captured second place in B class; Ray Sylvia placed third in D class; Charles (Chuck) Sylvia took first place in E class; and Dick Carlson won first place in A class and third place in the 100 bird final.
