Quarterfinals put an end to Vineyard boys tennis season

The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School boys tennis team finished its season at 13 and 5 with a 4-1 loss to Old Rochester in the Eastern Athletic Conference quarterfinals Monday.

In singles play, Old Rochester’s Sam Paquill defeated Zak Danz 7-5, 6-4. Connor Downing came out on top over Old Rochester’s Al Bilobeau 6-4, 6-4, and Old Rochester’s Caleb Jacoda defeated Graham Lewis 6-0, 6-1.

Old Rochester took both doubles matches, with Josh Leman and John Pothier defeating the Vineyard’s team of James Kelliher and Max Hammond 6-2, 6-2. Island team Thiago Muniz and Ben Nadelstein lost to Old Rochester’s Max Wolski and Geoff Norman 7-5, 6-0.
