A crackling lightning strike seen from the Tisbury Great Pond. - Sam Moore
Pouring rain and lightning shook Martha’s Vineyard during thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday nights, soaking the down-Island towns especially, and sending pedestrians and boaters speeding for cover. Jesse McGrath, a year-round resident artist and musician, was in Menemsha with a friend Saturday night, and managed to capture a lightning strike on his phone’s camera as the storm approached. He said they were “enjoying the sunset with some wine and clams and we stayed a little later to keep watching the approaching storm.”
