Rene DaSilva of Vineyard Haven was first to cross the finish line in the 19th Run to the Chop 5K race to benefit the Vineyard Haven Library. He finished with a time of 17.50. Heather Lucas of Hopkinton was the first female to finish (20.22).
A total of 64 runners joined the race, which was preceded by a half-mile kids’ fun run. Complete results, including winners in all age groups, may be found on coolrunning.com and on the library website, vhlibrary.org.
The race is sponsored by the Friends of the Vineyard Haven Library,
and proceeds will support library programs.
