George B. Brush, who opened his law firm in West Tisbury in 1998 to serve year-round and seasonal Vineyard residents, primarily in property matters, announced the firm’s expansion to Brush, Flanders & Moriarty, LLC, as Caroline R. Flanders and Timothy M. Moriarty join the firm as directors.

According to a press release, Ms. Flanders, who lives in West Tisbury with her family, joined Mr. Brush 15 years ago as a paralegal, and was admitted to the bar in 2012, specializing in real estate and trust and estate administration.

Mr. Moriarty joined the firm as an associate in 2015, and continues his focus on civil litigation, OUI/DUI, and criminal defense work. Admitted to the bar in 2008, Mr. Moriarty was a civil litigator and bar advocate attorney in Western Massachusetts before opening his own practice in Edgartown in 2012 and settling in Chilmark with his family.

“With Caroline and Tim joining forces with me, the firm offers experienced and one-on-one counsel in dispute resolution, complex legal matters, and civil and criminal cases,” said Mr. Brush. “Caroline brings a deep understanding of real estate issues on the Island, and Tim is a fierce client advocate who stays on top of changes in the law and ensures the best possible outcome for his clients and their families.”

Assisting the attorneys are Gregory Germani, who joined the firm in 2012 as a paralegal, and Hope Callen, who serves as office manager and administrator of You’ve Got a Friend, the nonprofit established by Brush in 1994 to assist Islanders in need, particularly those facing a sudden catastrophic event. At the end of 2016, the nonprofit, which collects no administrative funds, had distributed more than $1.5 million directly to Vineyarders in need and their families.

The expanded firm was established on Jan. 1. For more information about the firm and the services provided by Brush, Flanders & Moriarty, LLC, go to bfmlegal.com.
