To the Editor:

I find it hard to believe the BBO [board of bar overseers] will spend its energy looking into the conduct of assistant district attorney Laura Marshard. She is one of the good guys, and justice can’t be so blind that they’d think otherwise.

Look closely at all the players involved. If the BBO is interested in looking into members of the bar that inappropriately use the system, they need look no farther than the litigation piled up. An investigation into the conduct of those attorneys would seem appropriate. Using litigation as a delay tactic and as a means to inflict financial pain is unethical. Self-righteous claims to the contrary are why so many have contempt for the system. It appears that when justice and the law meet, it’s only a coincidence.
