Vineyard boys tennis clips Falmouth


The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) boys tennis team improved to 3-1 this season with a 5-0 win over the host Falmouth Clippers on Thursday. The Vineyarders took all five matches in straight sets.

Zak Danz won at first singles for the third time this year, defeating Brian Estes 6-2, 6-2. Aksel Cooperrider downed Michael Mangalo at second singles 6-0, 6-2, and Chris Ferry picked up his fourth victory in third singles with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Max Carter.

The first doubles tandem of Max Hammond and Nainoa Cooperrider topped Luke Knox and Wes Garland 6-0, 6-1, while James Kelliher and Spencer Pogue posted their third win at second doubles with a 6-0, 6-0 double bagel against Artie Robichaud and Evan Brodie.
