The Vineyard Montessori School’s Big Night Out, a time to eat, drink, and dance for a cause, is Saturday, May 13, from 7 to 10 pm at the Lighthouse Grill at the Harbor View Hotel.
The Montessori School was founded by parents in 1975 at Arrowhead Farm in West Tisbury. The school, now located on upper Main Street in Vineyard Haven, has embarked on a campaign to expand by purchasing more land to allow for its growing educational needs. The long-term plan includes expansion of the elementary classrooms and creation of an outdoor learning space. The independent, nonprofit school enrolls an average of 54 students, pre-K through sixth grade, each year.
The Big Night Out will feature a silent and live auction, and music by the Phil DaRosa Band with a guest appearance by Sophie Hiller. Tickets are $30 per person. For more information, visit vineyardmontessori.com or call 508-693-4090.
