The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) was recently given a Vision Award by Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM).
The Vision Award was presented to WHOI for being a global leader in ocean science and a key driver of the economy of Cape Cod, according to a press release. AIM is the largest employer association in Massachusetts, and companies were recognized for their “unique contributions to the cause of economic opportunity in Massachusetts,” the release states.
WHOI, which is the second largest employer on Cape Cod with more than 1,000 workers, employs about 10 people from Martha’s Vineyard, according to an email from a WHOI spokeswoman.
