On Oct. 28, from 9 am to 12 pm, Dukes County Social Services Program is sponsoring, along with the Community Action Committee of the Cape & Islands, a community expo with information from many community and regional resources that will help families learn how to save money on household expenses. According to a press release, the informative event will take place at the MV Regional High School cafeteria, and snacks and beverages will be served.
You’ll learn how to save money on utilities this winter, access Island resources to stretch your dollar, shop and prepare meals for your family on a budget, and discover Island-wide programs to save you money.
There will be workshops and cooking demonstrations from participants including the Resource Inc. and Cape Light Compact, and information from Eversource on savings programs — all with the goal of helping Islanders stretch their dollars in the coming “lean” months.
