Grant Pertile of Edgartown, a freshman on the Bryant University (Smithfield, R.I.) men’s tennis team, was named as the Northeast Conference Player and Rookie of the Month, the school announced in a press release on March 8. Pertile shared the honor with his teammate Matt Kuhar of Smithfield.
Pertile is the third Bryant freshman to win rookie of the month. He has been a standout in doubles play this season, posting an 11-5 record overall; 11-3 when paired with senior Luke Lorenz of Colorado Springs, earning victories over the likes of Army, Brown, Creighton, Dayton, Lamar, Navy, Richmond, and Tulsa.
