Dukes County ranks top 5 in healthiest communities

Did you wake up feeling healthy this morning? According to a report published by U.S. News & World Report, Dukes County is the fifth healthiest county in the country.

The magazine looked at access to healthcare, education, economy, and other factors to rank communities.

A community in Virginia ranked first in the U.S. News rankings. Two communities in Colorado and one in New Mexico were ahead of Dukes County.

Dukes County ranked best in community vitality, which looked at voter participation, home ownership, and net migration rate.

Hampshire County, in the western part of Massachusetts, ranked 45th, and Barnstable County, which encompasses the Cape, was ranked at 50.
