Tisbury Waterways is holding an information session called “Stormwater Runoff and the Threat to Clean Water” on Thursday, May 10, from 6 to 7 pm. at the Tisbury Senior Center.

Richard Claytor of Horsley Witten Group will be the guest speaker. He’ll talk about the sources of stormwater-derived pollutants, and the threat to Martha’s Vineyard coastal and inland waters. Claytor will also discuss how stormwater management has evolved from treating runoff as a waste product to a new paradigm of managing rainfall as a valuable resource. Suggestions will be provided on how green infrastructure practices can be applied in Tisbury both to protect coastal waters and enhance quality of life for residents and businesses.

Claytor is president of Horsley Witten, and has more than 30 years of experience in the field of water resource assessment, watershed planning, stormwater management design, and land use management.
