In keeping with more than 20 years of tradition, Father Michael Nagle, pastor of Good Shepherd Parish, performed a blessing of the bikes last Sunday, an annual rite of spring in Oak Bluffs. Motorcyclists gathered at the P.A. Club for coffee and doughnuts before making their way to the Steamship Authority in Oak Bluffs for the blessing.

Father Nagle, a Harley rider himself, says a prayer, and the riders go past him as he sprinkles holy water on them, bidding them safe travels as the season of motorcycle riding gets underway. After the blessing, the riders rode up to Menemsha, and then back to the P.A. Club for a lasagna lunch. The M.V. Harley Riders sponsor the event every year.
