Farm.Field.Sea. teams with a local chef and a garden expert on a one-day retreat “Regenerative Gardening and Feasting” on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 10 am to 3:30 pm at Peaked Hill Studio in Chilmark.

The retreat will focus on creating colorful and delicious plant-based meals, and turning your garden into a source of delicious, seasonal ingredients. According to a press release, the retreat will help guests gain the skills to successfully transition their garden, home practices, and diet to a new level of wellness. The three-part retreat will be led by Kyleen Keenan, founder of Not Your Sugar Mamas and a plant-based chef and holistic food coach. Landscape manager of Oak Leaf Landscapes, Roxanne Kapitan, and Valerie Sonnenthal of Peaked Hill Studio will also facilitate.

Experiences include:

  • Garden: building “soil armor,” planting, caring for your garden
  • Herbs: exploring culinary and medicinal
  • Yard: Transitioning your home from unproductive and manicured to edible and glorious
  • Food Waste – How to Build (and maintain!) a compost bin
  • Cooking: selecting, preparing vibrant plant-based, simple meals
  • Wellness: Explore how eating plant-based, nutrient-rich superfoods help foster an anti-inflammatory diet and are beneficial for health and well-being.

You’ll learn best garden practices with Kapitan from 10 am to noon, then you’ll have a cooking class from noon to 1:30 pm with Keenan, from 1:30 to 2:30 you’ll enjoy lunch with the team and then Sonnenthal will lead sound meditation beginning at 2:30 pm.
