Throughout the fall, the West Tisbury library will continue to host a series of architecture programs on select Wednesdays with local architect Bruce MacNelly. According to a press release, this series will include three talks addressing some fundamental ways to think about architecture, independent of questions of history or style. The schedule and topics will include:

  • Oct. 10 at 4:30 pm — Autonomy and Dependency: The Double Life of Buildings
  • Nov. 14 at 4:30 pm — Mask/Veil: Façade and Identity
  • Dec. 12 at 4:30 pm — 2D/3D: Painting and Architecture

This series is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

Bruce MacNelly is an architect in West Tisbury, where he has had a practice with his wife, Linda Joy Cohen, since 1984. He has also served as an associate professor of architecture at several institutions, including Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, RISD, and Wentworth Institute of Technology.
