The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School will hold a public forum to discuss the renovation of the track behind the gymnasium, and receive comments from property abutters of the Deer Run Association, Twin Oaks Association, the Oak Bluffs planning board, and the Oak Bluffs water department regarding the track. The public forum will take place on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 7 pm in the library conference room. Another public forum will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7 pm in the Performing Arts Center, to discuss track renovation and receive comments about whether the field within the track should be artificial or natural turf.

Administrative assistant for the superintendent Ruda Stone said the forums are to hear from people in the town who will be directly affected by construction and renovation of the track. Parents, faculty, and town employees will be able to voice their opinions on how to move forward. “This has been an ongoing issue for the school. The track has not been used for some time because of its condition. The school did a quick fix, but now we are definitely due for some renovations,” she said.
