To the Editor:

I view the Steamship Authority as a bully. As far as I can remember, it has never considered its impact on the town of Falmouth. The approach used by the authority is underhanded. The citizens of Falmouth will eventually point a finger at the SSA for covering our open land with parking lots, clogging our narrow roads with hurried 18-wheelers (where my grandchild waits for her school bus), and refusing to acknowledge the need for a second mainland port.

The SSA pretends they are working with the community. They are not. The authority starts their projects and designs before any community input. The SSA then throws up its hands as if the villagers are being unreasonable (“too late, we’ve already begun”). The Steamship Authority, with its lack of foresight and dogged determination not to change its position, will cost Falmouth dearly.
