April is National Poetry Month, and the Tisbury School library celebrated by providing students many different opportunities to enjoy poetry. According to a press release, the library’s makerspace table had magnetic poetry and collaborative collage poems, and fourth grade students illustrated poems about spring. Many poets were featured in the “Poet Tree” spotlight.

April 26 is Poem in Your Pocket Day, when all students are encouraged to carry poetry around with them during the day, and share that poem with others.

The biggest hit was Interactive Poems: Students walked, tangoed, wobbled, and swung themselves through the library while reading the poems.
