Thoughtful, committed community event

To the Editor:

The boys and I would like to convey a huge THANK YOU — thank you for your generous donation. Thank you for volunteering your time. Thank you for your unwavering support. Thank you for ensuring that Jacob and Sam’s future is not limited by the loss of their dad, our situation, or a lack of resources. Above all, thank you for showing the boys that the greatest gift a human being has is the ability to care about others and to do their part to help, no matter how big or small. We think you are amazing!

Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Thank you for being a member of the “small group of thoughtful committed citizens” whose invaluable support does not go unnoticed. By choosing to be part of the Fluke for Luke family, we believe it means you noticed you could help, decided to get involved, and in turn are making a difference in the lives of two incredible young men. Your participation and generosity make this event an unbelievable success.

We are very blessed to be part of this tight-knit community that cares and goes out of its way to help one another. Your support, whether this is your first time being involved or you have been here since the start, is a source of strength and inspiration for our family. The money raised for the boys’ college funds will allow them to simply have choices they would not otherwise have. Thanks to you, they will be able to follow their passion and go after their dreams, just like their dad, and there is no better way for them to honor him. Ultimately, you are providing them the opportunity to become the men Luke and I always envisioned. There are no words to express the gratitude I feel in my heart.

Thank you for your generosity. With gratitude,

Robyn Gurney
