Police protect, serve, and unload groceries

To the Editor:

Almost every Monday, Good Shepherd Parish takes our truck to the Boston Food Bank to pick up 4,000 pounds of food — produce and frozen proteins — to be given to those who need food. Last Monday, all of our regular helpers were unavailable to unload the truck. The Oak Bluffs Police Department volunteered to help, and so we wish to thank Officers Coleman Lenand, Seth Harlow, Devin Balboni, Dan Cassidy, Sgt. Michael Marchand, and Lt. Tim Williamson for their assistance unloading the food. Another great example of neighbors helping neighbors.
Thank you for your assistance.
