Wastewater floods Nantucket crew quarters

A wastewater line on the Steamship Authority ferry Nantucket backed up Monday flooding part of the crew quarters on the vessel. The wastewater didn’t extend into public areas of the vessel and didn’t affect service, according to SSA spokesman Sean Driscoll. A private contractor was called in to clean up and sanitize, Driscoll said. He attributed the back up to a clog. Asked about the still ongoing damage from a ransomware attack, Driscoll said the ferry line had most systems up and running, though eferry tickets and some cameras remain down still. Asked if the SSA paid a ransom, Driscoll declined to comment.
