Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands will be distributing coupons for individuals who are 60 years of age or older and low income (individuals who qualify for programs such as Food Stamps, Mass Health, and fuel assistance) for the purchase of produce at local Farmer’s Markets in Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket Counties. The Federal Grant from the Department of Agriculture provides coupons worth $25.00. There are a limited number of coupons available.
In Dukes County, coupons are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Elder Services Senior Nutrition site at 1 Hospital Rd. in Oak Bluffs. It is open Monday through Friday from 11 am to 1 pm. Please see the Elder Services Nutrition Site Coordinator for coupons and information on participating farmer’s markets. For details, call 508-693-4393. You do not have to be an Elder Services’ consumer to receive this benefit.
