A 3-year-old child has died after being pulled from one of the pools at the Field Club, a private Edgartown club. The child died on July 28 at Boston’s Children’s Hospital after being taken “unresponsive” out of one of the Field Club pools on July 26, transported to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, and then airlifted by MedFlight off the Vineyard, according to a release from the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office.

“The matter remains under investigation by Edgartown Police, State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner,” the release states.

  1. I am so sad to read this and my thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Such a tragedy & so close to home with kids and a pool. Don’t know the situation here but whenever I hear of this it reminds me and hopefully all that it only takes a second to change everything and pool safety is so critical.

    So heartbroken by this.

God Bless this family in their healing.
