Kayla Smith and Liz Baldwin of BiodiversityWorks will be at the Chilmark library on Oct. 24 at 5 pm, presenting on the organization’s beach bird and black racer snake projects and volunteer participation in those projects. They will discuss the history of the species, the monitoring/research projects, outcomes, and how volunteers have been and could be involved.

BiodiversityWorks was founded in 2011 by Luanne Johnson to establish a conservation organization focused specifically on wildlife monitoring and research across the entire island of Martha’s Vineyard, and provide mentoring opportunities for young adults. BiodiversityWorks’ mission is to promote conservation of biodiversity through wildlife research and monitoring while providing opportunities for people to engage in hands-on nature study.
