To the Editor:
Seventy years ago church bells across the Island tolled to announce the D-Day invasion of Normandy, France, in the most significant event of World War II. We remember the brave servicemen who participated in D-Day to preserve the freedom we cherish today.
Take time to salute and hug a veteran, regardless of when or where they served.
