After a year off due to COVID-19, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands (BBBS) will once again host Blooming Bids for Kids at the Field Gallery in West Tisbury on June 18 from 5 to 7 pm. This one-of-a-kind evening is put on with help from the Island’s landscaping, gardening, and artistic communities who present visually beautiful and creative planters, floral arrangements, landscape offers and more, with a silent auction to benefit the kids that BBBS serves on-Island.

According to a press release from BBBS, this year’s event will celebrate the resiliency of the 40 Littles who are matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister on the Vineyard. “After one of the most socially isolating years in history, BBBS felt it necessary to celebrate all youth in their program and their connections with their Bigs that helped to guide them through the pandemic. A large centerpiece will feature framed photos of island Bigs & Littles with an accompanying story of their match and the impact the program has made,” the release says.

The evening will include heavy hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and more than 40 garden-themed silent auction items. In addition, the auction will include several high-end items such as a four day/three night stay at the awardwinning Canyon Ranch Resort in either Lenox, Mass., or Tucson.

Blooming Bids for Kids is limited to 100 guests, and BBBS expects the event to sell out. Advance ticket purchases are encouraged and may be purchased online at bbbscci.org/bloomingbids.
