Transformer explosion closes MV Chowder Co.; repairs underway
A transformer explosion shut down power to the MV Chowder Company in Oak Bluffs, owner JB Blau reported at about noon today. Sharky's in Oak Bluffs and in Edgartown are both open for lunch, Mr. Blau adds. NStar is making repairs, and Mr. Blau says the Chowder Company will reopen as soon as power is restored.
