Oak Bluffs

Monday past really felt and looked like fall, with temperature in the low forties, many people returning to their mainland homes after their final stay here for a while, and the leaves already starting their winter color change. A hawk greeted me this morning when I pulled up the window shades, and soared out of the yard, reminding me of an airplane taking off from the runway. Ah yes, hopefully life will start to slow down a bit for a while.

Kenny and Erica Ponte and their children are taking part in the National Kidney Foundation Boston Kidney Walk on Sunday, October 28. This is a very important organization and one that is very dear to their hearts since Kenny suffered for some time with kidney failure. They are still reaching out for donations to help them reach their goal of $1,000 for the walk. If you are interested in donating please go to Kidneywalk.org and find Team Ponte and donate.

Get ready for the Oak Bluffs School Haunted House. If you want to participate in their annual Halloween Party on October 27, now is your chance. Submit your best scary and haunted house ideas to the school.

The school needs nurses to sub for the days the school nurse goes to training workshops or for illness. If you have a relative or friend with a current license that loves children, please have them call the school.

Can you believe that the Lost and Hoping to be found rack by the nurse’s office is already getting full of beautiful new sweaters and sweatshirts. Please label clothing and lunch boxes and it will be easy to return items to the correct child. Please walk by and look to see if some of your children’s belongings are there
