The Tisbury School Building Committee met Monday, and after a lengthy discussion regarding management of the construction, the board decided to include construction manager at risk in the budget for the project, according to a press release from committee member Reade Milne.
As The Times has previously reported, construction manager at risk allows the contractor to be interviewed and selected. A design bid build project, which could still be the route taken, requires taking the lowest bidder for the project, which officials have said could be more risky for an Island project.
According to Ms. Milne’s press release, the committee also discussed value engineering items, and eliminated a number of them. The meeting was videotaped by mvtv.org.
The board’s next meeting is scheduled for 5 pm, Monday, Feb. 12, at Tisbury School library.
