Soccer fans celebrate U.S. victory at Coop

For year’s, Coop de Ville has hosted soccer fans for important matches. Today was no different, as dozens of locals and visitors gathered at the Oak Bluffs Harbor restaurant to cheer on the U.S. Women’s National Team as they took on the Netherlands in the finals of the World Cup.

My family and I were just in France on vacation and it was enlightening, if not discouraging, that most French men seemed not to care at all about their Women’s National team. In fact, we had to ask the bartender to change the channel to the US vs. France game as they were airing the AFCON games instead. How wonderful it is to see all of the male faces in the crowd at the Coop cheering on the amazing #USWNT!
