The Martha’s Vineyard Midget Smythe Mariners (Under 16s) shut out the Lower Cape Coyotes, 1-0, on Sunday to cap off a perfect 13-0-0 regular season in the Southern New England Hockey Conference (SNEHC).
The Mariners, featuring a number of high school varsity players, finished nine points clear of the second-place Providence Junior Bears, scoring 56 goals while conceding only nine. Goaltender Graham Stearns has a stingy goals-against average of 1.00.
MV travels to Attleboro this weekend for the start of the SNEHC Midget playoffs.
