About 250 spectators and paraders gathered for the children’s Fourth of July Parade in Oak Bluffs Tuesday morning to celebrate Independence Day.

Festivities are also planned Tuesday evening in Edgartown.

The parade, which returned last year after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, will kick off the celebrations promptly at 5 pm Tuesday. Fireworks are planned for Edgartown Harbor around 9 pm.

  1. Why no pimped out Patriotic American Flags with a tattered gold fringe and tacky long gold tassels.
They were so popular 2016 to 2020.
    What changed?

  2. I absolutely loved the story this morning that the Republican National Committee posted a tweet that read
” 247 years ago, our forefathers told ‘ol King George to get lost ! Happy independence day from the GOP !”
Below it was a picture showing 2 Liberian flags.
Yeah, the Liberian flag has red and white stripes with a blue square and a single star.
    Close enough I guess.
This is what happens when you ban books.
I just wanted to bring this to the attention of the republicans here, as you won’t see it on Fox “news”.

To be fair, they weren’t the only ones.
Such is the power of social media.
Americans can’t even recognize their own flag.
