A fragment from a human skull was discovered at a work site on this Tisbury street Friday. - Rich Saltzberg

Contractors discovered a piece of human skull while planting a tree on Hines Point, Tisbury Police Chief Dan Hanavan told The Times.

The fragment was identified as human by Randy Jardin, a cultural resources representative of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah), Hanavan said. There is reason to believe the fragment may be Native American, Hanavan said.

Tisbury Police turned the fragment over to the Massachusetts State Police, who are now in charge of investigating it, Hanavan said.

  1. Before you make any more assumptions that it is a Wampanoag finding, hold on just a second. It could very well be Donald Trump’s, as it is common knowledge that he is missing everything from the neck up!
